The EPO PCT Guide gives an overview of the procedures under the PCT before the EPO. The information provided is not to be considered complete and/or to replace the relevant publications of the EPO and WIPO. It is explicitly noted that the EPO PCT Guide is intended to be complementary to, but not a substitute for, the PCT Applicant's Guide ("WIPO PCT Guide") published by the International Bureau of WIPO ("IB"). The WIPO PCT Guide is available in English and French on the Internet (http://www.wipo.int/pct/guide/en/index.html). The German version is published by Carl Heymanns Verlag KG. General information on the EPO and specific information on the procedures before the EPO as receiving Office, international authority and designated or elected Office under the PCT is provided in Volume I/A (Annex B2) and Volume I/B (Annexes C, D and E) of the WIPO PCT Guide.

Up-to-date news about the PCT is available on the WIPO website (http://www.wipo.int/pct/en/index.html), from the PCT Newsletter and the PCT Gazette, both published by WIPO and available on the WIPO website. Information on the procedures under the PCT is also provided on the EPO website (http://www.epo.org) and in the EPO's Official Journal ("OJ"). Applicants are strongly recommended to consult these publications and, in particular, any such information published after 1 December 2005.
Readers desiring further information about the PCT procedure in the international phase are advised to consult the Administrative Instructions under the PCT ("AI"), the PCT Receiving Office Guidelines ("GL/RO") and the PCT International Search and Preliminary Examination Guidelines ("GL/ISPE"), all available on the WIPO website. Any reference to "Guidelines" ("GL/EPO") in this guide, however, relates to the Guidelines for Examination in the European Patent Office (http://www.european-patent-office.org/legal/gui_lines/index.htm).
