Notice of the President of the European Patent Office
dated 20th December 1984 concerning general authorisations

On the basis of Rules 9(2) and 101(3) EPC it is decided that:

1.	The Legal Division¹ is responsible for decisions concerning the registration of general authorisations.

2.	It is recommended that Form 1004.1² be used for general authorisations. The powers mentioned separately in the form (to receive payment, to act in PCT proceedings and to give sub-authorisations) must be expressly granted (e.g. by placing a cross in the appropriate box on the form).

3.	Powers other than those three mentioned in point 2 above may not be excluded in a general authorisation.
