For international applications filed on or after 1 January 2004 the rationalised international preliminary examination procedure has been discontinued. Consequently, no request for "detailed examination" will be required. Moreover, since no "rationalised IPER" will be established for such applications, the refund of two-thirds of the fee for international preliminary examination is not available.
