Language of the demand

The demand must be filed in the language in which the international application was filed except in the following situations:

If the international application was filed in a language other than the language in which it was published, the demand must be filed in the language of publication.

If a translation of the application has to be filed with the EPO as IPEA (see points 120 and 121), the demand must be filed in the language of that translation.

Any other correspondence with the EPO as IPEA may be in any of the EPO's three official languages with the exception of amendments to the application, which are to be filed in the same language as the demand (see point 123).
