The search fee to be paid in case the EPO acts as ISA is reduced by 75% where the applicant or, if there are two or more applicants, each applicant is a natural person who is a national and resident of a state not party to the EPC which fulfils the requirements for the reduction of the international filing fee and the handling fee as specified in the PCT Schedule of Fees annexed to the PCT Regulations. A list of the states fulfilling these requirements is available on the Internet (http://www.wipo.int/pct/en/fees/fee_reduction.pdf). The consequence of the requirement that each applicant must be a natural person who is a national and resident of a state not party to the EPC, is that its scope of application is more limited than the reduction scheme under the PCT for the international filing fee (see point 59) and the handling fee (see point 132).
