Filing direct or by post

The date of filing accorded to an application filed with the EPO direct or by post is the date of handing over or receipt respectively at an EPO filing office.

Please note that Rule 82 PCT excusing a delay in the post is not applicable to the priority period. It is therefore recommended that an application be filed as early as possible.
