Where may an international application be filed?

Acknowledgement of receipt

20	The EPO confirms receipt of an international application on EPO Form 1030/1031 by post.

On request, the EPO also confirms receipt of the international application by fax, against payment of the administrative fee.

To ensure prompt confirmation of receipt, the following points must be respected:

the request for acknowledgement must be sent together with the international application,

evidence of payment of the prescribed administrative fee or a debit order in respect of it (see Section 2.1, item 13 of the Schedule of Fees) must be enclosed, and

the address to which the receipt is to be sent must be given.
